Style Post: The Winter Wonderland, Backyard Edition

For those of you who have been keeping up with North American weather news, fear not, I did not gallivant about in -35 C weather (including wind chill). That would be foolish.

Instead, I put on a pair of black heeled booties and hopped about in the beautiful and untouched snow of my parents' beautiful backyard, hoping to catch what I could of the snowfalls I know I will miss when I venture back to the GVA (greater Vancouver area).

The point of this style post is actually to show off the two thrifted items in my outfit: the American Living leather bound and plaid purse, and that gorgeous floral and paisley scarf.

Both were thrifted from Talize: the scarf from their Hamilton, ON location, and the purse from their London, ON location. I found out from a friend that they have recently opened a Delta, BC location which I can't wait to check out when I get back out west.

Thrifted things aside, man oh man will I miss the snow... and the cold cold temperatures of Southwest Ontario in the winter. It's not quite the same when you have to frolic about in the rain, even if there are mountains in the background. There is just something delightful to be said when you are able to stand in the snow and it covers your heeled booties...and ankles.

So just for good measure, I showed off my snowy boots.

  1. I love these photos...My family and I live in southern NH and we are very familiar with these conditions (not normally that cold though!!) I especially like the last photo (before the blooper!) xoxo

    1. Thanks! My boyfriend has become quite the photographer these last few weeks. :)

  2. Boyfriend is a good photographer!
The snow in Southwestern Ontario will miss you too!
correction: American Living plaid purse 15.99 (just saying) Great purse!

    1. Oh. I thought it was $9.99.... oh well. :P

  3. I'm with you. I love the snow! Growing up in South Carolina, what we call snow is nothing compared to what I have seen since living in Toronto. People automatically assume I'd hate the cold and snow, but I'm the complete opposite. I live for fall and winter weather! That purse was a great find! Hope you have enjoyed your time before heading back to the west coast. :)
