Nail Polish Picks: February edition

Well, it's February, and that means Valentine's Day, a shorter month, and longer days are upon us, thus. This month's Nail Polish Picks is inspired by a little bit of love, a little bit of winter, and a big hope for spring.

Covergirl's Outlast in 'Toasted Almond'

If you're a follower of Lipstick&Yarn, you already know just how much I love Covergirl's new line of nail polishes. You can read up on why on my January nail polish picks post. Needless to say, this greyish-brown is a wonderfully versatile tone. It's earthy, which I like, and it goes with any casual outfit without being too cocky about itself. It's one of those nail polishes that just looks, well, polished

ACO's nail polish in 'Deep Green'

Another Ardene's pick: this one reminds me of fresh leaves on spring trees after the snow has finally all melted away. On a good day in BC, all the evergreens look this colour. It's just so hopeful that better weather will be upon us soon. And it is definitely a statement colour. I use this one frequently for nail art because it's bright enough that it accents nicely. Again, nail-polish el-cheapo means that a good base and top coat is necessary (but you do that anyways when you paint your fingers, right?)

LA Colours Nail Lacquer in 'Flashy Fuschia'

I actually have no idea where I picked this colour up, but the bottle can easily be mistaken for an OPI line polish. This nail-polish has some shimmer to it, so I suggest that, as a nice bright unapologetic pink, it should be worn to complete your ever-so-Elle-Woods Valentine's Day getup.

Covergirl Outlast in 'Megawatt Mauve'

Covergirl again. This subtle pink almost blends in to my skin tone, which is great, because its soft hue makes it one of the most frequently worn polishes in my collection. It has very very subtle shimmer to it, and, unlike the previous pink which is all about the night life, this one longs to be worn to the professional workplace. It is one of those pinks that literally matches with everything. And that's alright with me.

Revlon Top Speed in 'Cloud'

Revlon is another nail polish brand that I hold near and dear to my heart and this particular colour is the epitome of winter. It's the colour of clouds pregnant with snowflakes so big that anyone in the Northern hemisphere is bound to wake up to a world beautifully white. Fun feature of this colour, the blue undertones start to show more intensely after a few days and it becomes more of a soft periwinkle. I also suggest a top-coat with this one. It will help keep it the cloudy hue a little longer.

Well, thanks for stopping in! Leave a comment and let me know which is your favourite.

Additionally, I wanted to let you know that in the next two weeks I will be posting a fun Valentine's Day manicure tutorial, and also an Essie vs Covergirl comparison post that I am really excited to share with you!

Have a lovely day!
