The Crochet Diaries: Finished Chevron

Well, all. I'm breaking my radio-silence tonight because I just couldn't wait another day for the reveal of the completed Chevron blanket I finished for one of my dear cousins this past week. Yes, I've been busy doing course-work, and yes, I've been doing my best to focus. But, let's be honest, it's been too long, and my poor blog needed a little bit of love before I jump into my final 3 weeks of the spring semester. Crazy!

I am so pleased with how it turned out! It measures about 4 ft by 6 ft, so it's a good size to curl up in with a book, or display comfortably at the end of a bed. I love how the colour combination turned out, and I think it suits the personality of my cousin quite well. She is 13, going on 14 (cue Sound of Music melody), and very stylish. The chevron is the perfect pattern.
In other news, I've also posted a photo of what my yarn stash looks like on a normal day. It's not quite as large as the stash my mother has in her basement back in Ontario, but hey, like mother like daughter, right?
The sunflower afghan on top is my next project - for my aunt. It will be considerably larger (hopefully useful for two people to snuggle under), but so bright and sunshiney. I think my aunt has great taste in colours, don't you?
