Thrift Week (Day 5): Sailor Sassy

Hey lovelies! Thanks for stopping in for the last installment of "Thrift Week." I've had a blast showing off all these great deals that I got from Talize this past Monday.

Growing up in South-Western Ontario, I learned an abundance of Maritime/Sailor melodies as part of music class in my elementary school years. My favourite (it got sung a lot around my house) goes a little something like this:

What shall we do with the drunken sailor?
What shall we do with the drunken sailor?
What shall we do with the drunken sailor?
Early in the morn-in...

And it would go on, answering its question with a host of interesting fates for the allegedly drunken sailor.

Now, this song would be completely irrelevant, except that when I tried this dress on, the only thing I could think of was that song, and that this would be the perfect summer ditty to wear whilst fishing on my Dad's tiny motor boat this summer. The buttons have anchors on them, the striped part of the top has ruffles, and short of having a peg-leg, I feel all drunken sailor (aka. pirate...arrrr), in this dress.

Perhaps the thriften Carlos Santanas give this dress a little more sass, or perhaps they are one fateful step closer to Brittany-the-drunken-peg-legged-sailor.

Who knows, really.

But in tales with this dress, I hope drinking songs will thus commence in my honour.

What shall we do with the drunken Brittany?
What shall we do with the drunken Brittany?
What shall we do with the drunken Brittany?
Early in the morn-in?

Give her Ricards! Or Keiths!

And then take her thrifting.
