Antique Mall

I kind of love antique malls, thrift stores, and reconstruction shops. I love looking at all the old things that were once loved by someone and now are waiting to be loved again.

Recently, my hometown had a rather large independent furniture retailer close down, and in its place came my absolute favourite shop ever: the most intensely huge indoor antique mall! Nick and I spent Sunday afternoon with his aunt and uncle wandering around, and there were so many treasures to behold.

I loved the old maps and posters, the old clothing (obviously), and the fabulous collection of vintage cameras. Nick's aunt and uncle left with a few old wagon wheels, a rusty tractor seat (which they plan to turn into a bar stool), and a very cool tin bucket that was once used for fishing.

I am always a fan of the Pyrex and Corningware casserole and mixing bowls from the 60s and 70s, as well as old tea cups. I'd like to plant an herb garden in vintage teapots someday, and have a kitchen filled with cute retro things. Of course, right now, that's a long ways off, but a girl can dream right?
