Thrift Style Thursday: Sweater Weather

sweater // Joe Fresh
skirt // thrifted, Value Village
belt // thrifted, Value Village
boots // Le Chateau

Well, we don't get any more appropriate for the 'True North" than a theme such as Sweater Weather, do we? This theme wasn't my pick, so I have to thank Beth for that one.

We've finally made it out of deep freeze temperatures up here in Southwestern Ontario; we're hovering around a balmy -10 degrees celsius as opposed to the freezing -20 degrees of last week. It was fun to get outside this week and shoot some photos in the snow, instead of being restricted to the interior of the home.

I did cheat a little on today's post. I couldn't find a sweater I liked enough while thrifting to showcase for a TST post (see that? I'm keeping my goals!), so here we are with a cute little dalmatian wool sweater from Joe Fresh. It was $28, and I wear it more than some of the things I have thrifted, so I figured I was being cost-effective -- and that's a form of thrifty, right?

I thought so too.

Now, go check out some of the other lovely TST ladies and find out how they have worked today's theme into their thrifting adventures! Do you have a thrifty outfit that fits today's theme? Instagram and Twitter it with the hashtags #thriftstylethursday or #tst! Join in on the thrifty goodness!

Have a lovely day, dear readers. And as always, stay thrifty!

  1. Aw, your little dalmation sweater is just the cutest thing! Ya know, I thought about wearing a sweater I knitted for today's challenge, but felt like that would be breaking the rules. You're a veteran TSTer though, so you can do that!

    1. Dude, handmade is like the thriftiest of all thrifties. You should have done it (we're pretty lax on the rules).

  3. I've cheated in the past too - and the face that you took your photos outside despite INSANELY cold weather totally makes up for it!

    1. Ah! I am so glad I am not the only one who's cheated. Interestingly, -9C isn't actually that cold to me. It's crisp, though, that's for sure.
