#ThriftStyleThursday: Colour Amidst the Snow

shirt // Mark's Work Wear
skirt // thrifted, Value Village
boots // Sterling
belt // Ardene

I can't start this post without talking about the weather. White Walkers have nothing on a Canadian winter. The fact that I am willing to brave a snowstorm and negative celsius temperatures for this blog is true commitment. And that last photo, my "holy shite it's cold!" expression, is a pretty good indication of how it felt to do this shoot. I could have used Jon Snow's furs to keep me warm. (Couldn't we all?)

I thrifted this gorgeous magenta polka-dot skirt a few weeks ago, and I have been so excited to style it for TST. Kristi chose today's "colour pop!" theme, and I am so happy she did! I love it with this shirt because it's such an odd pairing - lace pattern and polka dots. Who'd have thought, right? It's sweet, and feminine. The skirt falls just below the knee, giving it an air of modesty, and the colour is just so fun! It truly is an unexpected pairing for a mid-February snowstorm in Canada.

Check out our lovely TST ladies to see what colour they popped for this week's theme. Want to join in? Send any one of us an email to find out themes. Click the icon and connect with us via Facebook! Or follow week by week and hashtag your insta photos with #thriftstylethursday and #tst.

As always, stay thrifty!

    1. You're very sweet, Andrea. The lace/polka was definitely an unexpected combo, but I am happy with the results. I think I might have to wear lace and polka dots more often! :)
